'Friend Diagrams'

So I knocked out a few of these out last night...on instruction from Tony, and Peter and Jackie...but I've done them in my own way...They wanted me to extract pieces of each person's clothes...elements of the background, etc...which wouldnt make sense in the broader scheme of my project...

So this is them:

I do like the colour of the paper in the first too...I think the photos looks alot better against it for some reason...I could be wrong tho...it has happened before...

And this one is mostly drawings...well there is a few photos of the people who I havent gotten around to drawing yet...but itl come..

I think theres something in the layout, I'm not saying there isn't...but I just dont see how it makes sense to anyone other then me...they say its moder and that that is good...

I never said that that was what I was going for.

Waiting for the moon

Marcelline Delbecq

This is called Waiting for the Moon.
It's a digtal print on archival paper from 2007.
Found in Circa 129, autumn 2009
I just think its lovely...

This is my secret, and safe space

I have just about given up with college...every time I think I'm on a roll, they come and remind me that I'm not as great as I think I am...and that this is after all 4th year...and after all this is their...oops...I mean my show...

So I'm going to have my own show here...and I don't care if no one ever sees it...at least I am the one in control. This is my only safe space...

This is a drawing I did of me and Alex...for some reason Alex looks like Marmalade...(?) not sure what happened there!

This is Keelin

And Eoghain at Fabric, Check out his music here...

And this is a Friend Diagram, which the lecturers think is amazing, and wont stop going on about it...'this is you, this is where your project will come into its own...'
They dont know me at all do they?

Orange and blue...sure what can you do!

After my shower this morning, I arranged my outfit for the day on the bed: brand new prussian blue tights, cyan flowery knee length skirt, mauve top with rose trimmed neckline and what I would consider a dark teal 'boyfriend' cardi. Once arranged, I stept back and thought, 'yes, that looks quite nice, I'm happy with that.'

As soon as I had dressed and fixed my hair, Marmalade (my Galway cat) appeared at my window...beckonning to be let in...so I obliged her as I usually do when I'm home for any length of time. She gingerly made her way through the window and began nuzzling herself into everything...the edge of books, the corners of the dresser, the tops of my shoes etc. At this point I was sitting on the bed watching her and deciding whether or not I should wear my new knee high black socks with neon hearts that mum got me for my 23rd...when Marmalade began weaving herself in and out of my legs...

She obviously recognized just how striking a blue and orange combo would be...of course...resistance was futile.

My solution...wear the knee high socks!

Note to self: never share company with a ginger cat while wearing various shades of blue.

New Work that I'm excited about

This is a birthday prezzie I made for my very dear friend, Keelin. She had asked me to paint her a picture of me, her and Elaine together, since the start of the year, but i decided to do an enbroidery instead, me being in textiles and all...

Amazing Weekend

It was my friend's 21st over the weekend, and we partied like we hadn't a care in the world! It was nice, just forgetting about college for a few days and enjoying people and conversation and being out and about. Getting dressed up is fun too! I'm going to put more pics up tomorro. Can't wait!

Hellebores and Blue Tits

I know this a bit random, but I just need a break form art/college stuff. So I'm thinking of what to get for my next tattoo...and I found these flowers on the net the other day when I was looking something up for my thesis. aren't they lovely?

I think I want either a cluster of them in different colours coming from my sholder, over my collar bone and down my back a bit, or a semetrical 'shawl', over both sholders and arcoss my collar bones...I want to incorporate a little blue tit birdie as well...

I am, at the moment, loving this ! The photos just have such stories behind them. I only wish there was a way to post comments on particular photos, some are amazing, and I'd love to know more about the people, or just tell them that yea, their parents are awsome!

Just what i needed

I am sooooo looking forward to being able to look at art again, just for the pleasure of it instead of trying to be critical, and find meaning and blah blah...Just stumbled upon this wonderful slice of eye candy, YUMMY ^_^ just what the doctor ordered! Cant wait to be able to just sit down for a while and get inspired again...its been a long time coming!
