Dogsitting=pretty photos

I think the easiest way of getting back into the swing of things is by taking photos. I've never thought of myself as a very good photographer...I can take alright pictures...I'm a dab hand at photoshop...but I've never had much of a nack or skill for developing my own or any of that suff...The dark scares me and the chemicals used make me feel a little sick. But I do like taking pictures, especially off the cuff, as they happen pictures. I like documenting a day...I can often remember a day better from looking at pictures, then reading a diary entry.

So, this week, or these next couple of months, I'm gathering, documenting and compiling my day to day comings and goings. At the moment I'm dogsitting for dear friend and fellow artist Jane while she and she family are off holidaying. The dogs are great, so well behaved and gentle. They have been a joy so far, which I'm delighted about, and their keeping me busy...Well keeping my mind off other things.

So here's some pics from my adventures so far. The first is of an artificial rose in Jane's wood...
The second, Reilly, my doggie who wasn't too happy when I left him the other morning :(
Me in the mirror, a devil's bit scabbia and Towser, looking handsome :)

Thats all for now :)

Is it winter already?

Last time I checked, August was included in the list for summer months, this country included.
It seems that nature has a different plan for today.

Its one of those days where there's just one massive cloud covering everything...and just when you think the worst is over...ie. the wind dies down and it stops pissing from the heavens...it picks up and is worse then ever.

On the plus side, its the perfect type of day for drawing, reading and researching.

Rest over, back to work!

Ive been taking it really easy since I got back from London...well not that easy actually!
Eoghain's 21st has happened since I got back, and that took alot of prep, and aftercare...
plus that garden has been a bit of a nightmare to get back into shape, but I think its under control right about now :)

So now that Ive had a few weeks to recoup, and the house is back to normal, I can get back to work!
I work up this morning in a daydream, which hasnt happened to me in a long time...but in the daydream, I was painting something. So as soon as I could get my hand onto a piece of paper, and a pen, I quickly scribbled down what I was painting in the dream...

Now Im really excited to go and get started...

I know its late, but I do my best work at night :)

Oh, also, Im separating my blogs...so all writing etc, will go on one, and this one will just be for art stuff... :)
Watch this space :)

the thunder in my heart...

Im presently watching the final match in the world cup on alexs bed with her and her brother...well Im not really watching it, Im catching up on internet related buisness...

This week is going to be hectic because of Eoghain's birthday on Saturday...Mam is so nervous about the house not being ready...but I know itl all get done in the end...I am the master of completing impossible tasks at the last moment...procrastination is my middle name

I read Twilight because Eclipse was a better movie then Twilight was...but Twilight the book...lets just saw a 13 year old girl could have knocked out something ten times better...

Ill read the rest of them, only because I cant just leave it at that, and it was easy mindless reading, which took no effort or time at all...

After that, ill have to find something better...

After Eoghain's birthday im going to start designing my next tattoo...That will keep me busy...so excited about that!

So tomorro...im doing stuff around the house, gardening and general tidying up, then hopefully get my room finished, its so nearly there...we got the lawn cut today, so thats a relief...just bits and pieces...and hopefully, if all goes well this week, ill be able to go up to sligo next week and visit grace and liudas and bug bug :) That will be bliss indeed :)

I know, I know, I know

It has been awhile, but it will be awile more before I can properly update this slightly neglected, for the moment, space.

Lun-DON was an experience, I am totally inspired and rearing to get up and go and do and make and be...but I have to SHtall for a little while because there are other things that I have to do and make and be at the moment.

It was GREAT spending some quality time with my girls before we all had to part. London was vee hot, and we all were vee tired most of the time, but any down time we had I really enjoyed...Also, had so much fun with Emma, while Im really greatful for...Yea, NEW friend!!!

Climbed the Covet Garden staircase out of the tube by accident- mental note to self: NEVER do that again!

Went to Eclispe...and now I'm hooked on Twilight...so disappointed in myself!

Ate lunch in the park in Islington nearly everyday...went for nice walks, popped into Camden for a mooch, saw Ben and the Eye, went to the Tate and the National Portrait Gallery, which I really enjoyed...hmm...what else ?

The building New Designers was held in was AMAZING...I would love to convert it into a house...the ceiling alone took my breath away...

So now what am I at?

Well its raining outside, so Im unpacking from Galway, still...then when that is done I have to walk my poor dogs, their eyes are just following me around everywhere...then I have to do the garden cuz its looking pretty sad, like the dogs.
It was Eogahins 21st yesterday, and Alex's 23rd today, her party isnt till tomorro tho, so it gives me a little time to rest up, and the boy's isnt till next weekend, which gives me a little time to get the house in order...

Over all I'm good, wrecked, but good...

I'm going to set up a writing blog soon, as soon as Ive done everything else that needs doing, so I'll be able to keep this just for art stuff :)

Bon Bon...sweet as a nut

I met up with Siobhan yesterday...haven't seen her in over two years!
It was so nice.
I was sitting in the Spanish Arch with a french cookie from the new bakery next to Evergreen, and a Vanilla Late, and scanning the crowds of tourists and people, across the street I could see hair and then a skinny hand scratching akwardly at the hair, and I knew for sure it was Bon Bon...its funny how little mannerisms like that stay with us, isnt it?

So then we walked up town, only to realise that we should have stayed where we were.
Then we walked back down, all around South Park, out Mutton Island. Then I took her to see the exhibition, she got to have a cheeky sneak peak at everything and was pretty inpressed, which I was chuffed about. She loved my work, Keelin's work, and Emer's work especially. She also thinks that we textile people are completely mental...the ammount of work we do etc etc...

Then after that, I brought her back into town and we went to Kelly's for a few jars to shoot the breeze and catch up.

It was really really nice. Just being in her company is nice. I filled her in with news about people that shes not in contact with anymore, and vice versa...and we talked about college and her work, and friends and everything really.

And eventho, we only spent one day together, thats all me and her seem to need. We get out fill and catch up and check in, and make sure the other is still sane and on the right path and happy, and healthy, then we hug, tell the other we miss them and love them and go our separate ways.

Bon Bon, really is a 'forever' friend...because it doesnt matter how long it has been or what has happened or how far away from each other we are...when were together, its like we were never apart.
So shes more then a friend...she really is the sister I never had, and I love her and I miss her

Thanks for a great day Bee XxX
